INN and SNILS check via API

Send the passport and full name — get the person’s INN from the Federal Tax Service data. Send the SNILS with full name and date of birth — find out whether the number belongs to that person. Then, by INN, bankruptcy, arbitration, taxes and self-employment are checked without namesakes.

INN, SNILS and what the INN unlocks: a catalog of identifier checks

Two identifier checks and what becomes available with them. Each can be run on its own or together with other database checks in a single request. The full catalog is on database checks page.

Personal identifiers

A match against Federal Tax Service and Social Fund data by identifiers, not a search by name.

Match of full name and SNILS

Required: SNILS (11 digits), full name and date of birth.

Getting an INN and verifying a SNILS: what to send and what comes back

The INN check by full name and passport and the full name and SNILS check take as input what the customer has already entered in the form. The output is a short answer that is easy to put into a rule.

Form, request, response, decision: how an INN and SNILS check works

Four steps that fit into onboarding or employee hiring without an extra screen for the person.

Step 1

Data from the form or a document

The passport, full name and SNILS are taken from the form or from the passport recognized in a KYC session — with no re-entry. Consent to processing is a separate document.

Passport and SNILS in the customer form and a separate consent
Step 2

One request

Your server sends the data and the list of checks to kyc/checks/run and immediately receives a run number. INN and SNILS go in the same request as other database checks.

Passport and SNILS sent in the check request
Step 3

A response for each check

The report is fetched by request kyc/checks/result every 5–10 seconds. For each check — the outcome and the result: an INN, “matches” or “does not match”.

Response on INN and SNILS
Step 4

Decision rule

Everything matches — proceed. INN not found or SNILS does not match — ask for a document via a link or pass the form to an employee, and use the INN for the next checks.

Decision rule based on the response

“Matches”, “does not match”, “INN not found”: what to do with the answer

  • “Matches” — the number is theirs

The SNILS belongs to the person with this full name and date of birth. This confirms the identifier, not the identity: who filled in the form is shown by a document with a selfie.

  • “Does not match” — a typo first

Common causes — a mistake in the date of birth, the letter “е” instead of “ё”, an old surname after marriage. Ask the person to check the data or the document photo; do not reject automatically.

  • INN not found

The person may not be on the tax register, the passport may have been replaced, or the patronymic may not have been sent. The response shows what data was missing; a skipped check is not charged.

  • “Not checked” — does not mean “clean”

If the source did not respond, the outcome is “unavailable” and the run can be repeated. The service never returns an empty result in place of a real one.

Checking a customer by INN and SNILS: onboarding, hiring, payouts, loans

INN and SNILS are identifiers that people enter themselves. Check them where a wrong digit costs money or a fine.

  • Onboarding at a bank, an MFI, a broker

The INN from the passport opens bankruptcy and tax statuses without namesakes; the SNILS is matched if you collect it in the form.
    Solutions for microfinance organisations

    • Tax number
    • Social insurance no.
    • The 16 in 1 package
  • Hiring an employee

Is the candidate’s SNILS theirs; the INN is needed to check links with companies and debts. Only with written consent and with an HR officer’s decision.
    Candidate screening

    • Social insurance no.
    • Tax number
    • Links
  • Payouts to self-employed people

First the INN from the passport, then the self-employed tax status for this INN — before the first payout, not after the receipt.
    Work permit and self-employment

    • Tax number
    • Self-employed tax
  • Marketplace seller

The seller’s INN from the form matches the INN from the passport, and links with companies are visible before payouts are enabled.
    Marketplaces

    • Tax number
    • Links
    • Passport
  • Pension and insurance products

The customer’s contract is tied to their SNILS: matching the number with the full name before signing removes an error in the identifier.
    Solutions for pension funds

    • Social insurance no.
    • Passport
  • Loan, leasing, large transaction

The INN from the passport, then bankruptcy, tax debt and account blocks — before money or property changes hands.

Someone else’s SNILS, an INN with a typo, a passport before replacement: what identifiers reveal

Digits in a form are easier to check than a face. That is why the first mismatches show up in the identifiers.

  • Another person’s SNILS

A real number is entered in the form, but it is someone else’s — a relative’s or from a leaked database. Matching it against the full name and date of birth answers “does not match” before the contract is signed.

  • A made-up number

A set of 11 digits typed “by eye” usually fails the check number — such a SNILS is rejected before the request to the source.

  • An INN that does not match the passport

The form has one INN, the passport gives another. A typo or a substitution is for an employee to decide, but it is better to hold a payout to such details.

  • An old or someone else’s passport

For a replaced or invalid passport no INN will be found, and the passport check against the Ministry of Internal Affairs database will show the reason. Next — a document check and Liveness again.

A new passport, a new surname, new details: when to re-check the INN and SNILS

A person’s INN and SNILS do not change, but the data they are matched against does. Repeat the check when the form changes.

  • The customer reported a new passport — the INN by the new details and a passport check against the Ministry of Internal Affairs database Tax numberDocument
  • The passport was replaced at 45 or after a loss — update the details before the next payout DocumentYour rule

  • A new surname after marriage — match the SNILS against the new full name: the number is the same, the data is new Social insurance no.
  • A mismatch between the old and new surname in the form — pass it to an employee Your rule

  • The first payout, a change of recipient details, a loan issue — the INN from the passport and checks on this INN Tax number
  • An amount above your threshold — plus bankruptcy and tax debt Tax numberYour rule

  • Onboarding an employee — match the SNILS against the full name before the first transfer of data Social insurance no.
  • A transfer to a position with access to money — a repeat set of checks with written consent Tax numberYour rule
  • Thresholds and periods are set by your company. Re-checking the customer base against lists and sanctions is on the page AML client monitoring.

A company by INN, a SNILS by full name, pension record — not here: the limits of the check

  • Company and sole proprietor by TIN

Status, director, founders and shell-company signs by the organization’s INN — on the page counterparty checks. Here — only an individual.

  • Find a SNILS by full name

A number is not issued by name: the match answers whether an already known SNILS belongs to this person.

  • Service record, contributions, pension

Personal account data — service record, contributions, points — is not part of the response. People get it themselves from the Social Fund or on Gosuslugi.

  • Foreigners without a Russian passport

An INN by passport is searched only for a Russian passport. A foreigner is checked by full name and date of birth and against the register of controlled persons — on the hub.

  • Identity by numbers

INN and SNILS confirm identifiers, not who is filling in the form. That is done by passport and selfie check.

  • A one-off request “for myself”

A person can look up their own INN in the FTS service. NeuroVision is for a flow of forms in your system, not for private requests.

The service works only with legal entities and sole proprietors under a contract — for onboarding, hiring, payouts and risk assessment. You cannot check a person for yourself through NeuroVision.

Frequently asked questions about INN and SNILS checks

Your system sends the passport and full name with patronymic to the API — the service gets the person’s INN from Federal Tax Service data and uses it to find bankruptcy, arbitration, tax statuses and self-employment without namesakes. If the customer entered the INN themselves, it can be compared with the one received. Companies are checked by INN on the counterparty check page.

You send the SNILS, full name and date of birth, the service matches them against Social Fund data and answers “matches” or “does not match”. A number with an invalid check number is rejected immediately, before the request to the source.

Yes. An INN check by full name and passport is a separate catalog check for 5 ₽ and part of the “16 in 1” package. You need the series, number and issue date of a Russian passport and the full name with patronymic. The service is available to legal entities and sole proprietors under a contract.

The Federal Tax Service’s “INN of an individual” is a manual form for one-off requests. NeuroVision does the same thing in a flow of forms: a request from your system, a JSON response, and immediately the next checks on the INN received.

First check for typos: the date of birth, “е” and “ё”, a change of surname. Then ask the customer to check the data or pass a document check via a link. It is better not to reject automatically on a single answer.

The person is not on the tax register, the passport has been replaced or is invalid, or the patronymic was not sent. The response shows what data was missing; a skipped check is not charged.

A legal basis is needed: law, a contract with the person or their consent — your company chooses it as the personal data operator. Consent is given as a separate document (Part 1 of Art. 9 of 152‑FZ). Candidates and employees are checked with written consent.

The law allows confirming customer data with information from state systems and the Social Fund (Art. 3 of 115‑FZ). Whether our match is part of your procedure, and in which set, is determined by your internal control rules.

An INN by passport is searched only by a Russian passport. A foreigner is checked by full name and date of birth — wanted lists, bailiffs, lists — and against the Ministry of Internal Affairs register of controlled persons.

5 ₽ per check. The INN by passport is part of the “16 in 1” package for 50 ₽, and a SNILS match is added to it for 5 ₽. There is no subscription fee.
